Electronic PCB- The various layers of Electronic PCB

When it comes to learning as much as you can in electronics, one key concept is important to learn, and this is no other than Electronic PCBs. This is a fundamental device components that happens to present in almost all of the devices that we have today, but sadly, a lot of people are not even aware of what it does nor how it functions. Thus it is appropriate that we discuss a little bit regarding how these PCBs or Printed Circuit Boards works.
PCBs may also be called as printed wiring boards or printed wiring cards by some people. Before the discovery of these boards, most of the devices were constructed through point-to-point wiring wherein each of the wires are connected separately into its other end. This is quite laborious, and failures as well as short circuits are actually very common. But because of the higher demands of the electronic goods, there is a need to improve this system, thus PCBs are born.
PCBs are boards that contains lines or pads that connect various points together. Traces are present on its surface and these would electronically connect the various components within one another. They are different than the point-to-point system because there are less connectors needed in this system, and thus avoids the complexity of designs. The electronic PCB is so important because it allows the signals or power to be transmitted among the many components that are present within the device. Heavy Copper PCB Copper tacks are also etched on the surface as well as a layer of silkscreen. Underneath the said layers is a wider depth of substrate materials which is more commonly called as substrate or FR4. Thus there are alternating layers which make up a typical printed circuit board and these layers are made up of different materials which happen to be laminated and soldered into one another, with a resulting single object which is the PCB.
